Balayage

Balayage, a French word meaning ‘sweeping’, is the technique of free-hand painting highlights onto the hair, creating a soft and natural graduation of lightness towards the ends of the hair. Balayage is great way to colour your hair for a low maintenance and natural look. Toners are often needed in between colour appointments to keep the desired tone of the balayage. Foilayage is a technique often used in the salon, it is the same method as balayage, but the hair is placed in foil to prevent product transfer onto other parts of the hair, to speed up development time and to achieve maximum lift.

Recommended for: introduction to colouring, natural colouring. medium maintenance service after the initial service. Rebooking recommendations: x 2 a year

Highlights

Highlights and lowlights are a technique we use to lighten or darken your hair by weaving your natural hair and introducing another or a few different colours. This creates a multi-tonal look and continues to be a hugely popular service. Toners are generally used after a highlighting service to rid the hair of unwanted yellow tones, creating a more even result and making the hair shiny as blonde hair can appear dull.

Recommended for: those who like a multi-dimensional blonde colour, disguising & blending grey hair. High maintenance service. Rebooking recommendations: every 6-8 weeks

Tints

Tints are a different science to the bleaching process. Tints permanently add colour to your hair rather than taking colour out as a lightener does. Tints are great if you like one colour hair, or like the colour to look dense. They are also conditioning and cover 100% grey hairs. We recommend having a full head tint on your first visit so we can even out the colour, then after we would recommend a root tint and an occasional refresh.

Recommended for: Brunette’s, reds, coppers and some blondes, 100% grey coverage. Medium maintenance service. Rebooking recommendations: every 4-8 weeks

Semi-permanent

Semi Permanents add more of a gloss to the hair (think of a lip gloss rather than a lipstick) with a lower percentage of colour in them making them suitable for almost everyone, covering up to 30% of grey hair, so are perfect for those that are new to colour, or don’t want to commit to colour. Colour lasts for up to 12 washes and leave a soft grow out.

Recommended for: Brunette’s, reds, coppers and some blondes, up to 30% grey coverage. Low maintenance service. Rebooking recommendations: every 10-12 weeks
